Linear Controls have recently completed the installation of a Web enabled Cylon Building Management System at the Multi-million pound Sheffield United Copthorne Hotel situated adjacent to  Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane Football Stadium located in the heart of  the steel city of Sheffield, With a sleek and modernist feel, the hotel's interior also reflects Sheffield's status as one of the greenest cities in Europe, with a unique nature motif incorporated throughout the building's design theme.

The hotel, together with the Football Stadium, offers the most extensive conferencing facilities east of the Pennines, with executive suites, meeting rooms, a stylish bar, 100-cover Pavilion restaurant and a state-of-the- art fitness suite that incorporates a 56-station gym.

All 159 bedrooms have individual air conditioning units fitted with a  Cylon UCU8 controller controlling the temperature in the rooms these are operated by a VIN card system which enables the Fan Coil Unit the room temperature and fan speed is adjustable via a room controller mounted locally when the room is unoccupied a adjustable set back temperature comes into effect to heat or cool the room dependant on temperature.

The Sheffield United Copthorne Hotel benefits from having  a web-accessible HVAC Control System allowing the customer to monitor & control set points,view and archive alarms, monitor and log temperatures, time schedules, fan speeds Boilers, Chillers, AHU’s etc. from a front end PC over the site wide Building Management System Network.

Linear Controls have installed on site The Cylon Fidelio Gateway which provides an interface between the Cylon BEMS Network and Micros Fidelio System, allowing the Cylon Building Management System  to read room check in and check out status for up to 2000 Rooms, the Fidelio software is interfaced with the Cylon Building Management System therefore a guests room can effectively be optimised to the desired temperature upon check in.
